The division is a highly specialised technology and manufacturing expert in polymer and elastomer processing, precision moulding, aesthetic surfaces, fully-automated painting, mould-tooling, assembly and logistics.

Joint ventures have been formed with Blanos Participaciones SL (Spain), Eissmann Automotive Slovensko s.r.o (Slovakia), Changshu Automotive Trim Co. Ltd. (China) and Marelli (Italy) to complement the division with product and geography-specific expertise.

Design, manufacturing and maintenance of tools for polymer processing

Offering the complete range of services from tool design to tool manufacturing and injection moulding under one roof makes the group a total tooling solutions provider. The involvement of the companies is right from the concept design stage to the complete manufacturing of precision tools. The commercial tool rooms of Motherson specialise in for a wide range of applications from wiring harness components and complicated automobile parts to parts for white good, medical and electrical equipment industries. The expertise ranges from precision small and medium-sized tools to large size tools.

  • Dedicated tool rooms that specialise in high precision multi-cavity injection moulding tools ranging from small and medium-size to large-size tools up to 3200 tons.
  • Mould design and analysis on latest software supported by Rapid Prototyping, Touch Probe Scanning, Point Cloud Generation, 3D Surfacing and MoldFlow Analysis constitute a comprehensive design set up.

  • Unique technology for headlamps including 2k outer lens, multi reflection system, localised Bi-LED and Bi HAL projector module, laser demetallisation and different types of metallisation.
  • The technology used for rear centre lamps includes 4K outer lens overlay moulding, SKIN lens moulding. Capabilities also include in-house electronics lab, in-house light guide moulding and laser demetallisation.
