Motherson welcomes Yachiyo Industry, expanding its product portfolio through acquisition.

We are excited to announce that Yachiyo Industry Co., Ltd. has become part of the Motherson Group. With this strategic acquisition, Motherson is expanding into new product segments such as sunroof systems, fuel tanks for passenger and pickup vehicles, and exterior resin parts like bumpers and rear slide windows for pickup trucks. The acquisition also grants Motherson more robust research and development capabilities, focusing on innovation for next-generation products, such as lightweight tailgate modules and hydrogen storage tanks.
We warmly welcome the Yachiyo Team as they join the Motherson family, and we look forward to embarking on this exciting journey together!

Our Chairman, Mr. Vivek Chaand Sehgal Inducted into the prestigious Automotive Hall of Fame (AHF).

Motherson is proud to announce that our Chairman, Mr. Vivek Chaand Sehgal, has been inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame (AHF). This prestigious recognition is a testament to the trust our customers and all stakeholders place in Motherson.
The AHF recently announced the 2024 Inductees, celebrating pioneers who have shaped the automotive landscape, recognising their achievements and welcoming them into the Hall of Fame.
We look forward to the Automotive Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Ceremony on September 19, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan.

Mr. Laksh Vaaman Sehgal, Vice Chairman, Motherson, attended a luncheon discussion with the President of the French Republic, H.E. Mr Emmanuel Macron, during his visit to India.

On the occasion of the Republic Day of India on 26th January 2024, the President of the French Republic, H.E. Mr Emmanuel Macron, paid a State Visit to India. As part of this visit, a distinguished luncheon discussion was organised, bringing together esteemed business dignitaries actively contributing to the Indo-French business landscape. Our Vice Chairman, Mr. Laksh Vaaman Sehgal, had the privilege of being cordially invited to this significant occasion, reflecting Motherson's commitment to enhancing its substantial presence in France. Such engagements play a pivotal role in nurturing stronger ties and collaboration, laying the foundation for continued growth and partnership between our nations.

Motherson strengthens its Aerospace and Health & Medical businesses with a series of acquisitions.

As part of Vision 2025, Motherson announced a series of acquisitions to strengthen its non-automotive businesses, which are built on the core strength and manufacturing DNA of Motherson. These acquisitions are spread across the aerospace, health and medical businesses of the company and provide impetus for future growth. Our aerospace business now has a strong presence in Asia, Europe, and Africa, enabling us to better serve and provide solutions to aerospace OEMs and Tier 1 customers globally. These acquisitions will serve as catalysts for our health and medical business, which will now have access to global manufacturing and R&D capabilities with new footprints across Europe and India. We look forward to welcoming over 1200 new members into the Motherson family.

Motherson's acquisition of Dr. Schneider Group has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in our journey.

We are now proud to introduce the newest addition to our family - Motherson DRSC. The company manufactures high-end, innovative, and interior polymer-based components, modules and systems with integrated electronics, such as ventilation systems, smart surfaces and lighting modules. Aesthetics and interior illumination are important in the growing trend of premiumisation in the automotive landscape. With this acquisition, Motherson is well-positioned to extend these innovative solutions to other emerging countries and to medium-segment customers by leveraging its existing global footprints and customer relationships. We extend a warm welcome to the Motherson DRSC team. Together, we embark on an exciting journey towards shaping the future of automotive interiors and driving innovation within our industry.

UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi,  inaugurated Motherson’s wiring harness facility in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ).

Present at the ceremony were Mr Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman, Motherson, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, RAKEZ Managing Director, along with officials from other local government entities. The facility specialises in manufacturing wiring harnesses for commercial vehicles and other special-purpose vehicles and also exports them to its customers in Europe. Including this, Motherson has eight facilities in the region (other facilities are in Dubai and Sharjah), highlighting the UAE’s crucial role in the company’s strategy.

Motherson Group enters into a strategic collaboration with Prysm Systems

Motherson Group has embarked on an alliance with Prysm Systems, a leading provider of large-format Laser Phosphor Displays (LPD), and Prysm Application Suite, a visual collaboration solution. These offerings are designed to empower individuals and teams, giving them the capability to interact with their data, content, and apps on displays of any scale, including the world’s most expansive single-panel bezel-free 225-inch touch interactive 6K display. Along with the hardware and software offerings for this digital platform, we now have the ability to curate use cases and experiences that stimulate creative thinking, facilitate decision-making, and engage audiences. Thanks to this strategic collaboration, Motherson Group has access to cutting-edge collaborative tech, propelling us to deliver swift and efficient solutions for our customers.

Motherson Group has successfully completed the acquisition of SAS Autosystemtechnik GmbH (Germany).

SAS Autosystemtechnik GmbH is now an integral member of the Motherson Family! SAS has been a leading global provider of assembly and logistics services for the automotive industry. This strategic acquisition further strengthens Motherson's position in the global automotive supply chain, empowering us to enhance customer proximity with leading European and American OEMs and helping us to serve them better. Our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction remains at the core of everything we do. We extend a warm welcome to the SAS Team into the Motherson family. From here, we embark on this exciting journey together!

Motherson strengthens interior polymer business, with focus on innovation and technology; acquires Dr. Schneider Group of Germany with revenues of Euro 472 million.

Dr. Schneider Group is a manufacturer of high-end, innovative, and integrated electronic interior polymer components and systems, such as smart surfaces and lighting modules. The company is a technology leader in air vents, decorative interior polymer components with illumination and has a strong presence in premium vehicles. The company has a strong focus on R&D and product innovation, resulting in over 200 patents. It employs approx. 4,500 people in 07 facilities across 05 countries (Germany, Spain, Poland, the USA, and China). With this acquisition, Motherson will gain access to innovative electronic interior polymer components and can offer these innovations and technologies to other emerging countries and to medium-segment customers by leveraging its existing global footprints and customer relationships.

Motherson enters into a strategic partnership with Honda Motor, acquiring an 81% stake in Yachiyo Industry (4W Business), a Honda Motor subsidiary.

As a worldwide strategic supplier to Honda Motor with a fully aligned footprint, Yachiyo 4W supports Honda Motor in substantially all its sunroof and fuel tank requirements at each manufacturing location. The strong relationship has been forged on the back of decades of excelling on Honda Motor’s strict technical and quality expectations. The close proximity to Honda Motor plants across the globe provides an opportunity to offer existing products of Motherson to Honda Motor globally. Post successful closure of this transaction, Motherson will become a partner of choice for Honda Motor. This transaction enables further diversification for Motherson in line with its 3CX10 strategy.

Motherson acquires Cirma Enterprise, a France-based company engaged in manufacturing Electrical Wiring and Interconnect Systems (EWIS) for aerospace, shipbuilding, allied Industries etc.

This acquisition marks Motherson’s diversification into Electrical Wiring and Interconnect Systems (EWIS) for aerospace, shipbuilding, and other allied Industries. Previously focused on aero structure components and machining, this expansion aligns with Motherson's growth strategy and synergises with its existing wiring harness capabilities. Subject to the completion of the consultation process with the French employees' representative body and thereafter subject to the satisfactory completion of all conditions precedent, the transaction is expected to be closed within a period of 6 months from the date of signing (Oct-Dec 2023).

Motherson concluded its first-ever Global Sustainability Summit 2023, a carbon-neutral event.

 This aligns with our ambitious goal of becoming carbon net zero across our current global operations by 2040. We offset the carbon emissions generated by participant travel and stay at the event through a verified offsetting project for a wind farm in India. In addition, we pledged our support to a citizenship initiative in Morocco, where the event was held, by donating to the High Atlas Foundation to build a clean drinking water system for rural communities on behalf of all participants. All materials used for the set-up of the summit event, including a sustainable initiatives expo were donated to Maison d’Enfants Lalla Hasnaa, an association that supports children in difficult situations.

The summit had a focussed theme, ‘Embracing accountability and transparency drives our ambition for sustainable growth’, and the event brought together participants from Motherson’s operating business divisions and global functions, including experts and leaders in sustainability, to discuss and prioritise sustainable practices across our organisation.

Motherson has received the prestigious 'King's Award for Enterprise: Innovation' for its EcoMirror design, which was approved by His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

The EcoMirror, developed and produced by Motherson's subsidiary SMR UK, is a game-changing rearview mirror which is 30% smaller and 33% lighter than standard rear-view mirrors. This mirror also integrates the glass and casing into a sealed unit, reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. The EcoMirror retains all essential functions, such as turn indicators, power folding, cameras, and blind spot warnings. The mirror has already been introduced on the full-electric Polestar 2. This award highlights Motherson's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry, and we are proud to be a part of this achievement.
