Sumi Motherson Innovative Engineering Limited. (SMIEL-TD) is a joint venture with Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Japan. It is a commercial tool room specialised in small to medium sized tools.
The Tool Room facilities include 3D modelling of components on graphic work-stations using I-DEAS, PRO-E and CATIA, surface data scanning using continuous digitising, design verification through MoldFlow analysis, fuzzy-logic controlled CNC wire cut and EDM machines, multi-axis CNC milling machines, CNC lathes and grinders, heat treatment and annealing of steel using vacuum hardening, complete testing facilities, proving of molds and dies on latest injection molding machines and high speed stamping presses.
SMIEL-TD develops molds for a wide range of applications which include, wiring harness components, automotive applications, white goods, medical and electrical equipment.
